RC Tanauan History
In the history of Rotary in the province of Batangas, Tanauan stands out as the most talked about because it has always been known to have resisted being included in the world of Rotary.
Attempts to introduce Rotary in Tanauan were started in the late sixties by the Rotary Club of Lipa City. When the Rotary Club of Lipa City was organized in 1955, the then municipality of Tanauan, now a city was assigned to its territorial scope. Therefore, it assumed the task of bringing Rotary to the town. Unfortunately, these initial attempts were unsuccessful.
It took two more tries and another daughter club of RC Lipa City, the Rotary Club of Lipa South to organize a club in Tanauan in 1984.
On January 17, 1984, the Rotary Club of Tanauan was officially registered with Rotary International. On March 24, 1984, no less than DG Benny Angtuaco presented the Charter documents of the club to the community of Tanauan. At the same time, he presented the oath of office to the Charter officers and inducted the 23 charter members who accepted the challenge of organizing the Rotary Club of Tanauan.
